Melissa C. Carpani is a graduate of the University of Kansas and law school graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law.  She clerked for Schlagel Gordon & Kinzer, LLC in her final year of law school and joined the firm as an associate in 2004.  Melissa was made a member of SGK in 2007.

Melissa’s practice primarily focuses on transactional law, including business and tax law. She represents clients in all aspects of the entity selection process, including formation, operation, expansion, merger, acquisition and liquidation of varied corporate and partnership entities.  She is experienced in tax controversy work and has represented clients involved in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, Kansas Department of Revenue and other state taxing authorities.

Melissa is a member of Johnson County, Kansas and American Bar Associations.
